Provides community support and case management for individuals under involuntary outpatient commitment. Develops and monitors court-ordered plans, supports community integration, wellness planning, treatment adherence, and referrals. Maintains treatment records, coordinates with agencies and community resources, assesses consumer needs, and provides age- and culturally appropriate services to individuals with mental illness or substance-use challenges. Completes required agency and role-specific training.

Responsible for community support service provision including working in collaboration with the service team in the development, implementation, monitoring, and updating of the court ordered plan. Assists consumers with community integration, goal setting, and wellness planning. Maintains contact with referring agencies, related people and with community resources used for referral. Delivers age and culturally appropriate services to program consumers. Demonstrates knowledge of mental illness, substance abuse and the services available to serve those populations within their county. Maintains treatment records as per agency and DMHAS licensing standards. Utilizes SCM, CPR, and First Aid techniques as needed. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about the consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group. Knowledgeable of WRAP theory and process. Required to complete annual Agency trainings, as well as job related trainings determined by position.

Hours

Position is full time, Monday – Friday. Hours include flexibility based upon program need.

The Involuntary Outpatient Commitment (IOC) program offers a new option for individuals who aren't imminently dangerous enough for commitment to an inpatient program, but who struggle with remaining in treatment and are likely to become dangerous without that treatment. IOC coordinates community services and supports that increase the likelihood of treatment adherence. IOC services are a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure that IOC consumers are properly assessed, linked to treatment and services and emotionally supported.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Psychology or related field. One year of experience with mental health and/or co-occurring populations preferred.
