As a Cardiothoracic Surgeon (CT), you will be employed by Intermountain Medical Group and join the CT Surgery team at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. The CT surgery practice has been well established for more than 40 years.
This opportunity offers a generous competitive base salary with quality incentives, as well as productivity and call pay incentives. There is a great benefits package that includes retirement, CME allowance, health, disability, and malpractice coverage.
The workload is a shared 1:3 call rotation, along with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. McKay-Dee Hospital supports a top-tier heart and vascular program serving patients throughout Northern Utah, backed by strong cardiology and vascular surgery service line partnership and the resources of an integrated health system.
Clinical Practice
You will work alongside a collegial team of 3 board-certified CT surgeons and 4 very experienced CT surgical Advance Practice Providers, both NPs and PAs. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate and work closely with the cardiology group that includes over 15 cardiologists including a full spectrum of care of interventional and structural cardiologists, electrophysiology, advance cardiac imagers and dedicate heart failure physicians. The practice provides full spectrum care that prides itself on high-quality patient experiences.
Position Highlights
Excellent opportunity for professional growth, and plenty of program support with great team dynamics
Diverse Case Mix: Includes CABG, aortic surgery, treatment of atrial fibrillation, valve repair/replacement, benign thoracic, thoracic oncology, robotic surgery and integrally involved in structural interventions including TAVR, MTEER, and TTEER.
No VAD or Transplant on site, but VAD/Transplant support at integrated Quaternary Center in Salt Lake.
ECMO support at integrated Quaternary center.
Surgical APP's provide support in the OR, hospital (first call for floor and ICU patients), and ambulatory clinic.
The clinic is conveniently located in the hospital providing easy access.
EPIC EMR utilization (system-wide).
ICU support with excellent group of Intensivists on site 24/7
Our Medical Group is a physician-led group with the administrative support of a larger hospital system
The hospital is a Level 2 Trauma Center, a Certified Stroke Center. The OR includes two Da Vinci Xi robots, a hybrid room and two dedicated cardiothoracic surgery operating rooms.
Academic-Level Care in a Community Setting: McKay Dee offers university-level complexity with the warmth and accessibility of a regional medical center.

Compensation: We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $900,000+ for experienced surgeons. Base salary is informed by large, national survey and participating databases. There is an annual $75,000 bonus for quality incentive, call pay bonus per month for excessive call >7, as well as a wRVU-based productivity incentive. Additional incentives include a $50,000 sign-on bonus, relocation assistance (if applicable), and $5,000 annual CME allowance.
What you’ll bring
MD or DO degree from a fully accredited allopathic or osteopathic school of medicine
Board certification or eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
Full prescriptive authority and an active DEA, or the ability to obtain one
Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

Ogden is a city in Weber County, 40 miles north of Salt Lake City, that is the perfect place to work and live if you like easy access to outdoor activities.
