The Role

COMPANY OVERVIEW

KKR is a leading global investment firm that offers alternative asset management as well as capital markets and insurance solutions. KKR aims to generate attractive investment returns by following a patient and disciplined investment approach, employing world-class people, and supporting growth in its portfolio companies and communities. KKR sponsors investment funds that invest in private equity, credit and real assets and has strategic partners that manage hedge funds. KKR’s insurance subsidiaries offer retirement, life and reinsurance products under the management of Global Atlantic Financial Group. References to KKR’s investments may include the activities of its sponsored funds and insurance subsidiaries.

TEAM OVERVIEW

The KKR Capstone team is comprised of former operators and management consultants who work closely with KKR investment teams and portfolio‑company management to drive value creation.

We believe people are a business’s most critical asset—from senior leaders to front‑line employees. Accordingly, we design equity plans that include the entire workforce. This approach began with our Industrials team and has since been adopted across all of Americas Private Equity and, increasingly, other regions and strategies.

The impact on morale, engagement, and alignment has been remarkable. See our YouTube channel for videos such as:

Our commitment extends well beyond ownership. We invest heavily in worker safety, financial resilience and wellbeing, community engagement, employee education, and worker voice initiatives to drive holistic engagement and a high-performance ownership culture. See our latest thought leadership piece on this work.

To unify these efforts, we created the Human Capital Center (HCC), which provides resources, best practices, and standards for investment teams and portfolio‑company leaders worldwide.

We also partner with Ownership Works, a non‑profit dedicated to scaling shared ownership to address economic insecurity, narrow wealth gaps, and strengthen companies and communities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a high‑performing Analyst to join KKR’s Human Capital Center in New York. The Analyst role is a 2-year program, and this individual will help build and scale high‑impact human‑capital initiatives across our portfolio. The role blends strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, partnering with KKR executives, portfolio‑company leaders, and cross‑functional teams to foster ownership cultures that drive employee engagement and business value.

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Data‑driven focus and follow‑up on engagement and human‑capital priorities, with clear reporting to Ownership Works, KKR leadership, LPs, and other stakeholders.
  • Scalable content (such as slide decks, toolkits, and training materials) that supports communication, education, and capability building at portfolio companies.
  • Insightful, data-driven ad‑hoc analyses that inform decisions on employee engagement, financial resilience, well‑being, and benefits.
  • Flawless execution of human‑capital initiatives in partnership with HCC leadership and portfolio‑company leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with portfolio‑company leaders to implement key initiatives (prepare materials, share best practices, tailor presentations).
  • Support ownership‑program rollouts (track deliverables, onboard executives, serve as a creative thought partner to portfolio company executives).
  • Analyze data (survey benchmarks, industry reviews, scorecards, diligence living‑wage analyses).
  • Manage HCC data quality (systematically review gaps, follow up with companies or deal teams).
  • Create and manage content (tailor ownership trainings, compile best practices, update portfolio company resource portal, experiment with new technology).
  • Conduct research and analysis on strategic topics (retirement programs, safety performance, financial‑resilience adoption, medical‑benefits optimization).
  • Explore technology (e.g., GPT, predictive analytics) to uncover engagement signals and scalable interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commercial mindset coupled with a mission orientation and enthusiasm for creating opportunity for employees.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with advanced quantitative‑analysis skills (Excel; Power BI or similar).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with executives and investment professionals at all levels.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a learning orientation in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent project‑management skills; able to juggle multiple engagements, take initiative, resolve issues, and deliver results.
  • Unquestioned integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to KKR’s core values.
  • 1–3 years in management consulting, investment operations, or industry (business operations, strategy, human capital analytics, L&D, data analytics).
  • People analytics, human‑capital strategy, or L&D experience is a plus.
