Job Description

Role purpose :

  • Translate marketing and portfolio strategy into actionable, high-impact campaigns designed to achieve the growth and revenue goals of the Organisation.
  • Deliver omnichannel campaigns that connect growers, channel partners, and the Syngenta brand.
  • Enhance and communicate Syngenta Integrated Solutions value proposition through unique marketing strategies.

Accountabilities :

  • Develop and manage annual campaign plans aligned with portfolio priorities and sales targets.
  • Translate strategic direction into activation plans for launches, seasonal drives, and awareness campaigns.
  • Drive integrated execution across digital, PR, events, media, and in-field activities.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Agronomy teams to:
    • Align marketing and sales activities at area level.
    • Plan and support Farmer Days, demonstration plots, and local engagement events.
    • Co-develop strategic area plans and calendars that reflect regional market needs.
  • Provide sales teams with clear campaign toolkits and consistent messaging.
  • Manage campaign budgets and ensure optimal allocation of A&P spend.
  • Track and report campaign metrics, ROI, and learnings for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Lead to deliver omnichannel consistency.
  • Gather insights from sales teams and customers to inform future campaign design.
  • Ensure compliance with brand and regulatory standards across all communication.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Critical Experience: 

  • Min. 10 years of experience working in the AG industry.
  • Experience in the application of crop agronomics and technologies and their contribution to the financial drivers of a grower's business.
  • Effective management of high achieving teams.
  • Demonstrated capability in agronomy excellence and applying capabilities to support commercial operations.

Critical Knowledge:

  • Degree in Agriculture with significant experience in Marketing or Business.
  • Significant background in technical crop agronomy.
  • Strong understanding of South African crop markets and grower decision-making.
  • Proven experience in campaign planning and field marketing.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of key marketing and sales processes.
  • Confident collaborator with Sales, Agronomy, and Channel partners.
  • Understand long term technical concept positioning whilst being able to deliver upon short term campaign imperatives.
  • General Marketing practices and dynamics including Digital marketing.
  • Creative, practical thinker with an ability to translate strategy into execution

Critical Skills: 

  • Capability to work in teams that will support commercial operations.
  • High level of computer literacy (Power Point, Excel).
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, presentation and negotiating skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Collaborates effectively across organizational and functional boundaries.
