A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Buyer, you will be working hybrid and provide overall support to the Procurement team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Procurement.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Communicating regularly with and managing the supply base to avoid and resolve any delivery, quality, or pricing issues
- Proactively driving the supply chain to supply and exceeding our production floor’s needs and eliminate any interruptions
- Managing multiple projects and complete daily/weekly/monthly purchasing goals and metrics
- Serving as the focal point for escalation of all supplier relationship issues for the suppliers under your responsibility
- Maintaining supplier status relating to scorecards, business drivers and developmental needs (where applicable)
- Maintaining price tables and/or manage requisitions for pricing related to category contracts/negotiations
- Proposing and driving cost saving actions and projects aligned with company targets
- Travelling to suppliers and other MKS facilities 10%-20% of the time or as required for this position
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business/economics or engineering with knowledge of material management or logistics
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain/Planning
- A demonstrated background and proven experience with purchasing and supply chain tools
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experienced in direct procurement
- Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP Systems, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Office
- Advanced level ability in the use of Excel & Power Point
- A willingness and ability to influence and change the status quo
- Fluency in English is mandatory, other languages will be an advantage.
