The department is responsible for implementing, supporting, and continuously improving the software, hardware, and operating environments that enable a small but highly impactful business unit to operate efficiently and securely within the broader Hallmark ecosystem.

WHAT YOU’LL DO & HOW IT SHAPES OUR SUCCESS

The Business Technology Specialist is primarily responsible for the implementation, support, and ongoing maintenance of technology solutions including software, hardware, and operating environments for a small business unit within Hallmark. This role serves as a key liaison with Hallmark IT and external business consultants and vendors to ensure technology solutions are effectively designed, implemented, and aligned with business needs. An individual in this position has a keen knowledge of a variety of IT technologies, will manage daily technical support needs, and manage IT related projects.


Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Manage and actively contribute to IT technical initiatives involving third-party vendors
  • Oversee daily support activities to ensure timely and effective completion
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows desktop and server-based software
  • Provide technical support to team members and clients both on-site and remotely
  • Provide cybersecurity awareness and software training for staff members
  • Manage and audit user access and permissions for business applications
  • Create, maintain, and update technical procedures and documentation

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following are required to be considered for this role: 

  • At least 4 years of experience providing daily technical support and managing technical projects
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience working with Windows, macOS and iOS, including application installation and configuration
  • Customer service experience involving regular, one-on-one interaction with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Experience clearly communicating technical information to non-technical individuals, both verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages, with the ability to learn new technologies and develop or modify code when needed (While programming is not a primary responsibility of this role, it may be required on a limited, as‑needed basis to support technical initiatives)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume will stand out if you have the following:

  • Knowledge of database architecture (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Knowledge of C# .NET, Java, Python, Java Script, or other programming/scripting languages
  • Experience in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity policies and controls, with the ability to follow and support organizational security standards
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals sufficient to support troubleshooting and technical projects
  • High degree of personal leadership; strong sense of accountability, work ethic, holistic approach to the team’s success
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to troubleshoot technical issues
