Vast is looking for a Business Systems Analyst (BSA), reporting to the Senior Manager of Information Systems to support enterprise-level engineering and manufacturing information systems. This role will provide hands-on functional support, process analysis, and execution capacity that are critical to designing and building humanity's first human-rated space station
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Technical Product Managers (TPMs), IT help desk, and end users across engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions
- Partner closely with TPMs and functional stakeholders to document current-state workflows and identify process gaps / inefficiencies
- Perform triage to provide first-line support and analysis before escalating user requests, questions, and data issues to the product managers, technical team or third party vendors
- Gather detailed functional requirements from manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other functional teams to develop use cases, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria
- Support cross-system data mapping / integrations and identify gaps between standard system functionality and business needs
- Participate in configuration reviews and solution walkthroughs, support vendor/solution evaluations from a functional perspective
- Create and maintain process documentation and training/user guides; support training delivery
- Act as a resource for super users; support post-go-live stabilization of new features
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or business-related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years hands-on experience in a business analyst or similar role supporting manufacturing software e.g., Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools: Jira for tracking/managing work, Confluence for documentation
- Comfortable working directly with end users and handling a high volume of concurrent requests
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail when validating data or system behavior
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience authoring how-to guides, training materials, or user documentation
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Direct experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (Siemens Teamcenter preferred), Manufacturo MES and/or NetSuite ERP
- Aerospace or other complex, regulated engineering/manufacturing environment experience
- Experience as a manufacturing engineer, manufacturing analyst, business analyst, or similar role with direct experience with PLM, MES, ERP systems
- Experience translating between technical/system language and functional language
- Comfortable working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Pay Range:
- Business System Analyst Level II: $84,000 - $118,000
- Senior Business System Analyst: $108,000 - $150,000
