We're looking for a Business Support Administrator to join our dynamic Care & Support team. Role Purpose: As a member of the Community Services Division within Corserv Care ensure the aims and objectives of the organisation and division are met by providing personalised support to vulnerable adults who live in the community and have identified care & reablement needs. The emphasis being on providing people with safe, responsive, effective, compassionate and high-quality care, via Care & Support. Care & Support works with individuals to ensure care is person centred and provides individuals with long term care and support to enhance the individuals quality of life

What you'll be doing: The role is responsible for the day-to-day administrative processes required by management. The role involves preparing planned schedules adjusting schedules on a day-to-day basis in response to short notice sickness/absence, to accommodate new referrals and as a result of any other changing circumstances. Following up with workers if it is noticed they are running late make contact with workers and or s/u’s. Crucially, this role will ensure that all care visits are covered and that no missed visits occur. 

Responsibilities and accountabilities

Gaining payroll information 

Gathering mileage and auditing figures

Working with strategic teams to create care capacity within the county.

Report on staffing dependencies in various locations. Close liaison with the Registered Managers to identify pending staff capacity to forward plan the creation of new care runs.

Setting up new staff and service user on electronic systems. Supporting with implementation of any new systems and processes.

Working closely with business support administration teams and care coordinator teams with daily changes.

Communication with external teams around scheduling- for example out of hours service.

Seek advice from colleagues, other professionals, and line manager where this supports safe and effective decision-making. 

Maintain awareness of policy and procedures to safeguard adults at risk of abuse or neglect, alerting others to risks as appropriate. 

Attend training courses as required and maintain own professional development and competency including having responsibility for own self development on a continual basis.

Operate with due regard to Corserv’s confidentiality policies, the Data Protection Act and best practice and work at all times within the requirements of Health and Safety legislation. 

Offer safe and appropriate support to each individual in a person-centred way.

Comply with and maintain best practice in relation to Health & safety matters, which will include basic risk assessments and the prevention and control of infection. 

 

Ensure a positive and flexible approach to the variety of tasks and work patterns within the role as the service develops to enable effective and appropriate staffing levels to meet demand potentially including working weekends and evenings or early mornings. 

To operate in accordance with the diverse needs of the community to ensure equal access to services.

Be responsible for self and others continuous development and to undertake relevant training as required.

Carry out any other duties related to the post at the direction of the Community Services Management Team, which could include those duties listed outside of the local team, i.e. cover across the district or services as required and appropriate to the grading of the post.

Qualifications & experience essential criteria: 

 

Demonstrable skills in record keeping

Ability to use own initiative and organise workloads of self and other team members effectively

Ability to work collaboratively to support the continued development and management of a fast-paced service. 

Displays empathy and patience when dealing with customers. Has outline knowledge of tools and techniques for dealing with challenging behaviours and coaches others in their use

Ability to communicate well with both written and spoken English            

Proficient in the use of all ICT packages, including Excel, to be able to accurately and appropriately store all relevant data in the correct software            

Understands and applies multi- agency safeguarding policies for vulnerable adults

Demonstrates experience of data management systems, input, extract, manipulating data for performance management and financial reports   

Assessment

Experience of working as part of a team, demonstrating an ability to work on own initiative but also to accept direction and supervision.            

Flexibility in approach to work and providing cover as relevant    

Able to multi –task and prioritise workloads 

Good IT skills relevant to the analysis of information and ability to manage and prioritise workload/projects whilst under pressure to meet deadlines.            

An understanding of the geography of Cornwall to assist with clustering and placement arrangements. 

The normal duties of this role will involve the requirement to work Monday to Friday 9-5 or 8-4 to be discussed.  This will include covering the other Schedule when they are on leave.
