The Role

The Business Manager is a proactive, detailed-oriented and motivated individual with a strong understanding of the asset management business. He/she will work closely with department head and the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, increase operational efficiency and support growth initiatives across the entire platform. This role requires a high level of communications, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Business Operations & Support

  • Improve operational efficiency by coordinating and streamlining daily business activities across different functions within the team.
  • Assist in preparing presentation decks, business reviews and/or management reports for internal and external communication.
  • Support the implementation of new growth initiatives which may include either new processes, tools and/or systems to improve team efficiency.
  • Act as a key liaison between the department head and internal/external stakeholders.

Project Coordination

  • Help manage and track progress on new growth initiatives. 
  • Arrange complex travel plans and expense management for the department head and the team.

Financial Reporting

  • Manage the expense/budgets of the team. Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on of expenses.

Team Engagement & Communication

  • Organize team meetings, offsites, and internal communications.
  • Support onboarding new hires and coordination of training initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business management related roles within financial services, preferably in asset management or have the skill sets and aspirations to step up to a Business Manager role.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with stakeholders across various functions and regions.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, multi-lingual abilities – English, Mandarin and Cantonese are a must while another Asian language would be highly desirable.
