We currently have a vacancy for a Business Intelligence Expert in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.
Tasks:
- Manage, administer and monitor database, application server and application deployment platforms in production and non-production environments;
- Monitor correct operations of database and application servers; ensure availability, performance and service continuity;
- Carry out capacity analysis, performance assessments and system evaluations; propose and implement improvements;
- Apply data integrity control procedures and ensure correct implementation, review and maintenance of backup/restore policies and procedures (including for local datacentre and disaster recovery site);
- Apply security procedures for information infrastructure (hardening, access control, patching coordination, audit support);
- Provide second level support (L2) and take responsibility for Problem Management activities (problem analysis, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions);
- Act as technical lead for database and middleware operations and evolution: define objectives, roadmap, priorities and implementation plans for DB and application server platforms;
- Coordinate and lead technical activities (task planning, prioritisation, follow-up), ensuring alignment with the work programme, policies and procedures;
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of the ICT strategy, policies and procedures for databases and middleware (standards, methods, operational processes);
- Define and maintain target architecture and operational architecture principles for database and middleware platforms;
- Coordinate changes/releases impacting database and application server platforms (preparation, validation, scheduling, communication and post-implementation review);
- Report on service status, risks, issues, dependencies and action plans.
Requirements
- Master degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of 17 years;
- Experience of minimum 5 years in roles relevant to database and application server administration, including coordination/lead responsibilities or platform evolution activities (roadmaps, upgrades, migrations);
- Proven capability in operational support of mission-critical platforms (availability, resilience, controlled changes);
- Excellent knowledge of relational database systems, SQL and query optimisation;
- Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools;
- Excellent knowledge of Oracle database administration (12c and higher);
- Excellent knowledge of WebLogic administration (12 and higher);
- Excellent knowledge of Atlassian products system administration;
- Excellent knowledge of automation (scripts, continuous integration servers, configuration management);
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix shell scripting and Linux Administration;
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration, Tomcat administration
- Knowledge of Business Objects administration (BO 3 and 4);
- Knowledge of ICT security for databases and application servers;
- Knowledge of ITIL will be considered an asset;
- Excellent command of the English language and knowledge in French will be considered an asset.
