HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
- Serve as the subject matter expert for semantic model development, optimization, and governance.
- Lead the design and implementation of Analysis Services style tabular models and Power BI datasets, supporting self-service and enterprise reporting needs, including automation where appropriate.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and other engineers to understand reporting requirements and translate them into performant data models.
- Monitor and tune semantic models for performance, including aggregations, DAX calculations, and relationships.
- Champion best practices in semantic model design, including star/snowflake schema use, calculation groups, and partitioning strategies.
- Implement deployment strategies and version control for semantic models and reports using tools like Fabric Git integration or Azure DevOps.
- Support source control and CI/CD workflows for semantic model and report deployment.
- Provide guidance on governance, dataset certification, and usage metrics across the Power BI ecosystem.
- Mentor team members in data modeling techniques, DAX, and effective Power BI usage.
- Troubleshoot complex model performance or report behavior issues.
- Develop and maintain robust Power BI reports and paginated reports with an emphasis on usability, performance, and consistency.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5–8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or BI development roles.
- Hands-on experience with semantic model development (Power BI, SSAS Tabular / Analysis Services).
- Experience with advanced features such as TMDL, partitioning / refreshes, etc.
- Deep understanding of DAX and the VertiPaq engine, with the ability to optimize complex measures and queries.
- Strong SQL and T-SQL skills, particularly for model sourcing and data validation.
- Experience with Power BI development (including paginated reports).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or modern cloud data platforms (Data Factory, Synapse, Lakehouses, OneLake).
- Experience with source control and deployment strategies for Power BI datasets and reports.
- A passion for data storytelling, usability, and empowering end users with high-quality models.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to bridge technical and business teams.

SALARY RANGE
$93,350 - $127,125
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location
