About the Role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Kenya will drive new business growth across law firms, corporates, and public sector clients to win new LexisNexis customers in Kenya and consistently achieve new-business revenue targets. The role focuses on expanding LexisNexis’ market share in legal, compliance, and risk intelligence solutions (including Lexis+ AI and GRC). The BDM will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
The successful individual will be highly self-driven and independent, comfortable being out in the field daily, obsessed with activity, momentum and closing, and able to operate without the need for close supervision.

Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue and activity targets. Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. Drive urgency in deals and close new business consistently against monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
- Develop a sustainable pipeline of new business within Kenya and the East Africa region.
- Position LexisNexis as the leading provider of legal and compliance technology solutions. Confidently position LexisNexis solutions including Lexis+ AI, legal, compliance and risk offerings. Conduct strong discovery meetings and present clear, value-based proposals.
- Maintain data accuracy and opportunity visibility within CRM systems. Demonstrate excellent diary and time management. Follow up within agreed timelines and keep CRM updated as a reflection of selling activity
- Strengthen LexisNexis’ brand presence through professional engagement and partnerships.
Sales Delivery:
Achieve revenue and KPI targets, manage end-to-end sales cycle, maintain accurate CRM records.
Market Development:
Identify new clients, prospect via LinkedIn/events, expand footprint across sectors.
Solution Selling:
Conduct discovery meetings and showcasing LexisNexis products and solutions, customize proposals per client segment. Conduct daily and weekly Face to Face meetings
Market Intelligence:
Track competitors, provide local insights.
Governance and Reporting:
Deliver weekly pipeline forecasts, comply with quotation and billing processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years in B2B technology or professional services sales.
- Experience in SaaS, compliance, or legal tech preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, clear articulation and closing skills.
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred).
- Bachelor's degree required, business, law, or IT advantageous.
- Understanding of Kenya’s and East Africa corporate, legal, and regulatory environment.
- Independent, self-driven, and willing to travel within Kenya and East Africa regions
