We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our Ocean Division. In this role, you will identify new business opportunities, develop market-driven growth initiatives, and support the expansion of our product and service portfolio. By working closely with customers, sales companies, and internal stakeholders, you will help shape future offerings and contribute to the division's long-term growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, ship management companies, and key stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and provide value-driven solutions.
- Support customers in selecting Alfa Laval equipment for projects at shipyards in China, South Korea, Japan, and other major shipbuilding countries, ensuring close follow-up from the early design phase through project execution.
- Collaborate with Alfa Laval sales organizations worldwide to manage global shipowner opportunities, share market intelligence, and develop business through cross-country cooperation.
- Drive the sales and business development of Alfa Laval's Sustainable Shipping portfolio, supporting customers in meeting environmental regulations and achieving their decarbonization objectives.
- Promote and sell Alfa Laval's innovative marine solutions, including PureSOx, PureBallast Retrofit & Re-Retrofit, Oceanbird, E-PowerPack, and other sustainability-focused technologies.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and upcoming projects to identify growth opportunities and strengthen Alfa Laval's position as a trusted partner in sustainable shipping.
- Build long-term customer relationships by delivering technical expertise, commercial support, and outstanding customer experience throughout the sales cycle.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to develop market insights, customer segmentation, and targeting strategies.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to enhance market presence and strengthen relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime industry, preferably in technical sales and product sales.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to business development.
- Experience with ERP systems and CRM tools (OneCRM experience is an advantage).
- Team player with the ability to collaborate across international organizations.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
