Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing strategic relationships with major retail clients. This role requires a strong blend of commercial acumen, a customer-centric mindset, and the ability to manage complex solution sales cycles across hardware, software, and services.

As the primary business partner to top-tier retail accounts, you will ensure long-term client satisfaction, drive revenue growth, and align account strategies with our Client’s broader business objectives. This is a high‑impact, hunter‑focused role in a newly created EMEA retail organization that is already outperforming its targets.

Your tasks will include:

  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, solution presentation, RFP management, negotiation, and contract signature.
  • Formulating and executing strategic plans to achieve targeted revenue, margin, and expansion goals.
  • Manage and develop the accounts you sign, driving renewals, upsell and cross‑sell opportunities to increase revenue and margin.
  • Maintaining up-to-date account plans, structured sales pipelines, and clear action roadmaps.
  • Acting as the primary advisor and key contact, cultivating multi-level relationships across client departments (executive, technical, and operational).
  • Proactively managing contract renewals, handling escalations, and resolving client issues to ensure long-term satisfaction.
  • Leading discussions on commercial terms, pricing models, and service agreements.
  • Working alongside pre-sales, product, operations, and success teams to deliver customized payment solutions.
  • Tracking retail sector trends, client needs, and competitive movements across the CEE regions.
  • Feeding client insights back to internal product and marketing teams to shape future solution roadmaps.
  • Partnering with European colleagues to align strategies for multinational retail accounts and share regional best practices.
  • Delivering concise updates on account performance, forecasting, and pipeline metrics to leadership.

To be a good fit for the Business Development Manager role, you will have:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record in key account management or business development, ideally within retail, payments, fintech, or technology sectors.
  • Experience building a portfolio from scratch, generating new business, and then growing/retaining the accounts you sign.
  • Track record of managing large, complex accounts and consistently exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in both Polish and English.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work autonomously, balance competing priorities, and navigate matrixed environments.

Reasons to join:

  • Enjoy an attractive base salary paired with an uncapped, performance-driven commission scheme that truly rewards your sales achievements.
  • Receive a premium company car, fully covered with a fuel/charging card for both business and personal use.
  • Work with a global powerhouse and trusted market leader at the forefront of the FinTech and payment acceptance revolution.
  • Take full ownership of strategic, high-profile retail accounts across the CEE regions with the freedom to innovate and execute your vision.
  • Collaborate with a diverse, world-class team of global experts in an inclusive culture that values trust, sustainability, and personal growth.
