The L&D Consultant plays a critical hands-on role in delivering Coupa’s flagship leadership and professional development programs. Reporting into the Talent Experience Director, this individual operates as a program manager and core facilitator, leading the day-to-day execution, participant experience, and operational administration of key learning journeys.
This role bridges instructional design and learner engagement by conducting local needs analyses, co-creating dynamic content, facilitating key modules, and measuring program impact. Working closely with HR Business Partners, subject matter experts, and business leaders, the L&D Consultant ensures our development programs equip employees with the practical skills needed to grow, perform, and drive business results.
What You'll Do:
- Learning & Development Consultant:
- Needs Assessment: Conduct localized and functional needs assessments to identify skill gaps, partner with managers, and understand specific team learning requirements.
- Program Execution & Co-Design: Partner with instructional designers and external partners to translate learning requirements into engaging workshops, blended learning paths, e-learning modules, and performance support tools based on adult learning principles.
- Interactive Facilitation: Act as a primary facilitator for cohort workshops, live training sessions, and group discussions—creating a dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative environment for participants.
- Learner Adaptation: Flex delivery and content in real time to support diverse learning styles, group dynamics, and participant skill levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze participant feedback, attendance, and immediate application metrics to provide evidence-based recommendations for program enhancement.
- Foster Community: Build and nurture internal learning communities, peer-coaching circles, and practice forums across different business units. Talent Experience Program Lead
- Program Operations & Lifecycle: Oversee the end-to-end administration, scheduling, participant communications, and logistics for assigned flagship talent programs (e.g., Ignite, Accelerate, Soar, Foundations).
- Operational Coordination: Guide Program Coordinators and Solutions Specialists on cohort setup, platform configuration, LMS tracking, and event execution to ensure a seamless learner experience.
- Content Refresh & Delivery: Regularly update course materials, toolkits, and case studies to keep program content relevant, engaging, and aligned with Coupa’s strategic priorities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Coupa to guest-facilitate, share functional knowledge, and contribute to program content.
- Vendor & Resource Support: Coordinate with external training vendors and contractors to align on delivery schedules, logistics, and quality standards
- Partner with Stakeholders: Serve as an operational talent advisor to frontline managers, team leads, and HR Business Partners to solve learning gaps with structured programs.
- Talent Process Integration: Partner with the broader Talent Management team to align development programs with employee onboarding, performance enablement, and internal mobility.
- Impact Evaluation: Work alongside Talent Operations to track program completion rates, survey scores, and behavioral application, turning data into actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Industry Awareness: Stay current on modern learning formats, digital facilitation tools, and talent experience trends to continually enhance program engagement.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- 5+ years of experience in Learning and Development (L&D), Talent Management, or Corporate Training, with direct experience managing structured cohort-based learning programs.
- Strong Facilitation Skills: Proven ability to facilitate engaging, interactive workshops for early-in-career through mid-level management audiences.
- Instructional Design Understanding: Solid grasp of adult learning theory, instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and interactive learning technologies.
- Project & Program Management: Demonstrated success managing multi-week or multi-month learning programs from kickoff to evaluation.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills—able to break down complex concepts into actionable takeaways.
- Data & Feedback Literacy: Experience using survey tools, LMS data, and participant metrics to measure satisfaction and refine learning experiences.
- Collaborative Mindset: A customer-first approach with the ability to build strong working relationships with HRBPs, SMEs, and business stakeholders across regions.
- Education & Certifications: Relevant L&D or coaching certifications (e.g., ATD, DDI, ICF, Myers-Briggs) are a plus.
