As the Business Development Manager for the Education Sector, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within academic institutions and related educational organizations. You will build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, execute strategic sales plans, and drive revenue growth. You must have a deep understanding of the education landscape and a passion for developing impactful solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients.

Role and Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:

Strategic planning and market analysis:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand our customer base and achieve revenue targets within the education sector.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive activity within the academic and EdTech market.
  • Provide strategic insights to company leadership based on market data, helping to shape future product offerings and business strategy.

Lead generation and sales execution:

  • Identify and target potential clients, including K-12 districts, higher education institutions, and educational partners both private and public schools.
  • Generate new leads through a variety of methods, including outbound prospecting, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to negotiation and closing deals.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations tailored to the needs of educational stakeholders.

Relationship management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, such as superintendents, principals, deans, and curriculum directors.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique challenges and recommending customized solutions that meet their needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the customer success team to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and ongoing client satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have/be able to:

  • 8 – 10 years of proven sales or business development experience, with a strong preference for experience in the education or EdTech sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of academic institutions, their procurement processes, and key stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven and customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
