Our global Marketing & Business Development team works with colleagues across the firm to shape client strategy, identify opportunities, deliver proposals, campaigns and content, and strengthen Freshfields’ profile and client experience.


The role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to support our Asia Dispute Resolution practice. This varied, high-impact role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and can build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Asia and the global network.


Working closely with partners and colleagues across Marketing & Business Development, brand, communications, events and research, you will help identify opportunities, deepen client relationships and raise the profile of the practice.


What you will do

As part of the global Dispute Resolution business development team, you will:

  • Develop and manage compelling proposals, pitches, RFP responses and other opportunities to win work, often to tight deadlines.
  • Manage practice content, campaigns, events, directory submissions and awards to support client engagement and strengthen the firm’s profile.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and MBD colleagues, contributing to a collaborative global team mindset.
  • Develop and execute focused marketing and business development strategies to strengthen client relationships, target new work and build the practice’s reputation.
  • Use technology, including AI tools, Salesforce and firmwide platforms, to analyse trends, identify opportunities and measure impact.
  • Line manage a Senior Business Development Executive supporting the Asia Dispute Resolution practice.

What we are looking for
  • Degree-level education and substantial marketing or business development experience in a professional services environment.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, independent thinking, professional judgement and confidence advising senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and CRM systems; Salesforce experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong project management skills, with the resilience to manage multiple deadlines, shifting priorities and pressure.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with strong copywriting, grammar and proofreading ability.
  • Visual creativity and design aptitude would be a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm to keep learning and grow as a rounded Dispute Resolution business development practitioner.
