Job Description SummaryThe Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing 765kV business opportunities within the Power Transmission Portfolio of GE’s Electrification business. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, understanding client needs, driving cross-product offerings and revenue growth through strategic partnerships and sales initiatives.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients for 765kV portfolio (namely Power Transformers, Circuit breakers, Disconnect Switches, Instrument Transformers, Capacitor banks,etc)              
    • Analyze competitor activities and market conditions to inform business strategies.
    • Identify and Analyze projects in the ISO pipeline and bring opportunities for review to Commercial Director for review.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at utilities, developers and EPC’s.
    • Understand client needs, pain points, and strategic objectives to tailor solutions and proposals.
    • Support needs and initiatives for existing customers on and as needed.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through networking, industry events, and outreach.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, product) to develop compelling value propositions and solutions.
    • Driving external events, showcasing portfolio, road-shows for the full offerings under Power Transmission portfolio.
  • Proposal Development:
    • Prepare and present business proposals, including pricing strategies, service offerings, and value propositions.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions to close deals and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Sales Pipeline Support:
    • Support the sales pipeline, track progress, and forecast revenue.
    • Ensure timely follow-up and closure of deals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with technical, product, and support teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
    • Provide feedback on market trends and customer needs to inform product development and strategy.
    • Upsell all products under the umbrella and work in line with other product sales specialist to maintain rhythm to ensure all products are visible to the market.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and revenue projections.
    • Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the technology, data center, or colocation industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully closing deals and driving revenue growth.
  • Willingness to travel 30%-50% of the time based on the business need.
Preferred or Desired Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $108,600.00 and $181,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
