The Role

 Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar invites applications for two positions for Business Administration teaching support specialists (all ranks). These positions are designed for candidates who are interested in contributing to the educational mission of the business program through course and faculty support, student instruction and applied business research. The positions expect candidates to start working in August 2025.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to,

  • Working with the lead instructors on the content and design of instructional materials, course content design,
  • Coordinating content across courses,
  • Coordinating the activities of student course assistants,
  • Holding recitations with students,
  • Holding office hours,
  • Maintaining the course websites,
  • Addressing students’ questions and situations,
  • And supporting our general educational mission.

 The ideal candidate should possess the following:

● Master degree preferred. Candidates with undergraduate degrees and relevant work experience may also be considered.

● Excellence in teaching, course support and student mentorship.

● Ability to work independently while supporting multiple Business/Economics courses.

● Strong English language communication skills.

 We currently have two opportunities available, as follows:

Position 1: Field of specialization may include management, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior/HR, business communication, and/or business application of psychology/sociology. Applicants are expected to have strong skills in written and oral communication.

Position 2: Field of specialization may include economics, finance, accounting, operations management, data analytics, and/or math/computer science. Applicants are expected to have a strong statistical and coding background (in Python or R).

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is a branch campus that operates along with several other American and European branch campuses under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation’s Education City. CMU-Q’s focus is undergraduate education in Business Administration, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, and Information Systems.
