The Business Analyst will be responsible for management of internal commercial, reimbursement, and other data including market related information, providing key insights and actionable strategic input to stakeholders including senior leadership. This will include an emphasis on insurance billing/revenue cycle data, creating data visualizations and reports, taking ad hoc requests for data insights and working on a variety of projects based on business needs. 
Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports Finance, Billing, Market Access, Product and other teams on projects by preparing ad-hoc analysis and presentations as required.
  • Identifies and project manages opportunities for process improvements through to execution.
  • Creates & conveys management reports, custom dashboards, visualizations and presentations.
  • Initiates and supports projects, initiatives, solutions and other change management.
  • Conducts complex trend review, forecasting, sensitivity analysis, what-if scenarios and other analysis.
  • Presents information, analysis and updates to varying levels and types of audiences.
  • Provides recommendations by performing analysis of operational, production, financial, and other data.
  • Analyzes Payor behaviors, systems, and processes in reimbursement to optimize performance.
  • Creates data integrity protocols and controls over business processes to ensure data management best practices.
  • Operationalize business intelligence solutions to highlight strengths and opportunities to meet organizational strategies, objectives, and goals.
  • Analyze, maintain and generate large data sets of structured, semi-structured unstructured data to discover data insights and collaborate with business partners to deliver business value.
  • Supports data related automation, ETL and dynamic data transfers such as API.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a STEM or related field (e.g. computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, econometrics, or computer science). Advanced degree preferred.
  • 4-7 years of experience in business administration, information systems, health sciences, insurance company or healthcare provider billing organization.
  • Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifier selection, and UB revenue codes preferred

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Healthcare and Revenue Cycle experience required.
  • Experience with Revenue Cycle Management and knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifier selection, and UB revenue codes strongly preferred
  • Motivated, shows initiative, and ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a focus on listening to and understanding client/customer needs and then delighting the client/customer by exceeding service and quality expectations.
  • Ability to take advanced business analyses and complex projects from concept to completion and make the results accessible and relevant to business users at all levels
  • Experience telling stories with data and familiarity with at least one visualization tool.
  • Proficiency in SQL or another data manipulation programming language (e.g. Python, R).
  • Proficiency in Power BI
  • Working knowledge of basic statistical concepts (e.g. regressions, A/B tests, clustering, probability) and how to apply them to practical questions.
  • Advanced ability to craft analysis into well-written content and apply analytical skills to projects which have had an impact on business strategy and performance.
  • Ability to multi-task as well as manage, communicate and reset priorities amidst competing incoming ad hoc requests with short deadlines
  • Positive attitude, ability to work well under pressure and provide exceptional customer service
  • May serve as a mentor or SME, possibly a small team of Individual Contributors
  • Broad, tactical and strategic communication and interactions with internal and external parties

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
