Position Type: Remote (Tristate)
Contract Length: 6 months + possible extension
Position Overview:
A Business Analyst is needed to gather and document business requirements for complex data solutions, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analytics, reporting, data engineering, or enterprise application implementation, and be skilled in delivering clear project documentation and communication.
Required Skills:
5 years of focused experience in data analytics, reporting, data engineering, or enterprise application implementation
5 years of proven experience as a business systems analyst on medium to large projects
5 years of experience communicating and collaborating with agile delivery teams, technical staff, business partners, and vendors
5 years of experience leading requirements-gathering sessions using workshops, interviews, and document analysis
5 years of experience translating business and system requirements into epics, features, and user stories
5 years of experience with data modeling, data mapping, and data integration techniques
5 years of experience writing UAT test scripts and conducting UAT testing
5 years of experience identifying and documenting project risks with corresponding mitigation actions
5 years of experience tracking requirements throughout the SDLC lifecycle
5 years of strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Visio, Draw.io, Azure DevOps (ADO), JIRA, and Confluence
5 years of experience demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
5 years of excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
5 years of excellent written and verbal communication skills
5 years of strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking
Preferred Skills:
5 years of experience contributing to data modernization initiatives in Azure
5 years of familiarity with Microsoft data engineering tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks
5 years of experience using data visualization tools like Power BI
4 years of experience working in elections or on election-related projects
Duties:
Gather and document business requirements for complex data solutions
Ensure alignment of business requirements with stakeholder needs and expectations
Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to define project goals and deliverables
Analyze and interpret data to support business decision-making and solution design
Support the implementation of data analytics, reporting tools, data engineering solutions, or enterprise applications
Prepare clear and concise project documentation and deliverables
Communicate project updates and findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
