Position Summary
The Business Analyst is responsible for receiving, organizing, and managing the Company's specialized and non-standardized data — including quotes, purchase orders, invoices, and technical documentation related to construction and distribution — that arrives daily from clients and vendors.
This individual analyzes data and processes for the construction business to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement, supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will combine strong attention to detail with genuine curiosity to drive the transformation from decentralized manual, spreadsheet driven data management to a robust, technology driven approach to data intake, classification, and processing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Data Organization & Management
- Work with Construction and Distribution teams to organize and improve the management of project data, including project costs, schedules, estimates, procurement information, material data, labor information, and other project records.
- Support the organization and management of data related to Distribution operations, including product information, inventory, procurement, suppliers, customers, and sales data.
- Support the development and implementation of standardized data structures, naming conventions, data definitions, and data management procedures.
- Work with business teams to understand existing data sources, workflows, reporting requirements, and operational needs.
- Assist in identifying duplicate, incomplete, outdated, or inconsistent data and support data cleaning and validation activities.
- Develop and maintain organized data repositories to improve accessibility, consistency, and long-term data usability.
- Digital Solutions
- Identify opportunities to automate and utilize digital technologies to improve business processes and management.
- Support the implementation of practical technology solutions based on business requirements and operational needs.
- Construction & Distribution Data Support
- Assist business teams in improving the accuracy, accessibility, and usability of operational and project information.
- Support the development of standardized reports, dashboards, and data visualization tools to improve management visibility and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve data flow and reduce manual data handling across Construction and Distribution operations.
- Other duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Recent graduates and candidates graduating within a reasonable period are encouraged to apply.
- Strong foundation in computer science, programming, data structures, algorithms, and data management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze, organize, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and business processes quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies and process improvement opportunities.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical business users.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to support multiple business functions and adapt to evolving business and technology needs.
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular interaction with business, operational, and project teams.
- May require occasional travel to project sites, warehouses, offices, or other company and client locations to understand business processes and support digital initiatives.
- Work may involve collaboration with employees across Construction, Distribution, Procurement, Project Management, Accounting, and other business functions.
