Description of Work

The BK Licensure Support Coordinator provides essential backup support to the BK Licensure Specialists and assists with tasks related to licensure processing by collaborating with the BK Licensure Specialist, EES Enrollment Specialists, Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs), the NCDPI Licensure Section, the NCDPI Regional Assistance Licensing Center (RALC), the EES offices at UNC‑Charlotte and East Carolina University, and other assigned grant initiatives. This role requires strong attention to detail, clear and accurate communication, and timely processing of data related to intake, enrollment, and other required actions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing backup support for licensure requests processed by BK Licensure Specialists
• Tracking completion of six semester hours for provisionally licensed teachers
• Conducting Plan of Study audits for Residency Licensure renewals
• Processing Emergency Licensure conversions
• Managing the annual teacher experience bump via NC Licensure and Salary System

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $47,703 - $83,479

Recruitment Range: $47,703 - $56,020

  • Proficiency in using a desktop/laptop computer, Microsoft software applications (e.g., Word and Excel).
  • Knowledge and experience analyzing and interpreting data to inform decisions as they relate to the effectiveness and proficiency of teacher enrollment processes.
  • Possess analytical skills such as perception, evaluation, assessment and judgment to identify and address existing or potential problems, make recommendations and resolve issues in collaboration with senior management to develop and initiate innovations and solutions.
  • Experience in researching, analyzing and gathering data to assist with preparing presentations and written reports for training, meetings and other events or requests.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills to plan, prioritize and meet goals within short timeframes.
  • Professional knowledge about the early childhood education system, NC Child Care Rules, NC Pre-K Program policies, DPI Licensure and/or educational review of transcripts and other documents.
  • Technical knowledge and use of multiple databases to carry out duties (e.g., NC Department of Public Instruction’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS), LEA License & Salary Info System (LicSal), NC Educator Effectiveness System/Home Base (NCEES), NCDPI Online Licensure System, Scribbles, WORKS, NC Pre-K PLAN, etc.).

This position is funded in part through federal funds.
