This position is work from home, open to candidates based out of the province of Quebec. Approximately 50% - 70% of travel is required.
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To provide both corporate and site specific account relationship development at large, multi-site strategic Government and Healthcare customer accounts. These accounts will generally represent current sales greater than $1M and greater than $5M in potential. This includes initiating the relationship (new account development), developing existing accounts (account penetration), and managing accounts (maintaining and enhancing account relationships).
To negotiate, implement and ensure compliance to agreements with strategic accounts. To develop, expand, and maintain agreements that deliver strong revenue growth within our value proposition while improving profitability.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, manage and support Grainger's sales engagement strategy for all levels of government, within an assigned region;
  • Work in collaboration with team members to build customer programs, tools and offerings to create unique value for government and healthcare customers;
  • Continuously learn and coach team members about compliance and legal obligations associated with managing government business and contractual relationships;
  • Optimize government sales, improve customer profitability through enterprise-focused decision making and build strong relationships with regional sales teams;
  • Build, nurture and track relationships with key government stakeholders and influencers;
  • Identify and lead initiatives related to the acquisition of new government business opportunities across assigned region;
  • Lead the analysis, recommendation and response strategy for government tenders, standing offers and supply arrangements used as a procurement tool by government customers;
  • Lead the negotiation of government contracts, standing offers and supply arrangements;
  • Establish service and business plans with respect to tendered contracts, standing offers and supply arrangements and monitor, report on and improve compliance, profitability and customer and team member adoption of these sales vehicles;
  • Assist AGI management team by preparing and leading government presentations, overview materials and other pertinent information for information sharing and decision-making across the organization;
  • Lead local teams by taking a sales leadership and coaching role within key sales team members and contact centre members supporting government customers;
  • Identify, train and align key resources to serve government accounts;
  • Take an active role in developing a strong working relationship with the Government and Healthcare Team and centers of excellence support teams across the organization;
  • Support other Government and Healthcare Team members with new program implementation and ongoing business activity across Canada.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years sales and/or leadership experience with government and healthcare customers, with exposure to sales reporting, inventory management functions and eCommerce adoption;
  • Professional demeanour and ability to work with all levels internally and externally;
  • Strong project management, time-management, negotiation and presentation skills;
  • Extremely organized, flexible, proactive and creative;
  • Positive attitude, passionate about Grainger and our customers, and ready to drive new initiatives for this emerging segment opportunity;
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel programs;
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a suitable vehicle;
  • Post secondary degree and/or courses in Business Administration / Commerce, or equivalent experience considered an asset;
  • Bilingualism (English/French) required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Field Based position which reports to Director of Sales, Government and Healthcare. This position requires an autonomous thinker and self starter that can work in an environment with a great deal of ambiguity, while leveraging the vast resources of Grainger in a field based position. Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills. Interacts effectively with teammates and business partners; makes persuasive and informative presentations; Works well with conflict. This position interacts closely with all functional areas, across all levels within the Company & customer and requires excellent change leadership, driving results through others, influence without authority, written and verbal executive communication and conflict management skills.
