This position is responsible for battery benchmarking in North America using tools and products from around the world.
Primary Duties:
- Plan, prepare, run, analyze, document and report out on battery benchmarking.
- Plan, organize, execute shipping of batteries and components
- Organize testing of batteries and battery components at internal or external labs
- Tear down of new and end of life batteries
- Organize testing of batteries and battery components at internal or external labs
- Provide support to battery engineers regarding the findings from product benchmarking.
- Support laboratory safety activities in the battery tear down lab.
- Process development and process improvement for benchmarking.
- Improve / extend benchmarking capabilities
- Support of internal and external customer events with focus on end of life teardown and benchmarking.
- Work with suppliers: order parts & services needed for benchmarking.
- Support and training of internal teams.
- Identify best practices, share, document and implement among regions.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in engineering preferred (electrical, mechanical, material, chemical or automotive)
- Minimum 5 years of professional engineering experience in related field
- Good technical understanding, “hands on” character
- Strong result documentation skills with experience in this field
- Experience with electrochemistry / lead acid batteries required
- Experience with Excel, Word and Power Point required
- Good communication and organizational skills required
- Solid presentation skills required
- Understanding of project/program management methodologies
- Basic understanding about product requirements
- Understanding of root cause analysis
- Experience in identification of failure modes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience to work in a laboratory incl. safety audit support
- Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes recommendations
- Language: proficient English.
- Strong communication skills

- Travel expectation is approximately 50%+ between Monterrey and other Clarios sites, suppliers, and customers.
