The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Community Living (ACL) aims to enhance the independence, well-being, and health of older adults and people with disabilities. The Enterprise IT Services (EITS) project focuses on providing operational and developmental support for ACL’s enterprise-level cloud-based infrastructure and cybersecurity services. The ACL utilizes a hybrid multi-cloud architecture, primarily leveraging Microsoft Azure government cloud services with a FedRAMP moderate authorization, ensuring a secure and compliant environment for its various programs.
The Technical Writer/Trainer will be a key contributor to the EITS project by developing and maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation and training materials. This role involves creating user guides, system documentation, and training programs to ensure stakeholders can effectively use and manage the cloud environment. The Technical Writer/Trainer will collaborate with technical teams and end-users to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into accessible content.
In addition to documentation, the Technical Writer/Trainer will design and deliver training sessions to end-users and technical staff. This role requires strong writing and communication skills, a solid understanding of technical concepts, and the ability to create engaging training materials. The Technical Writer/Trainer will ensure that all documentation and training programs meet high standards of quality and effectiveness, facilitating better understanding and usage of the cloud environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer or Trainer, preferably in an IT environment.

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate them into user-friendly content.

Experience in developing and delivering training programs.

Proficiency in documentation and content management tools.

Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and end-users.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.

Familiarity with cloud technologies and federal IT guidelines is a plus.

Professional certifications in technical writing or training are preferred.
