Within the group, the Identity Platform team safeguards every user interaction by delivering secure, low-latency authentication and fine-grained authorization as a service. We treat Platform as a Product -providing frictionless login, SSO, and permissions tooling so 60+ product squads can focus on customer value while we uphold performance, reliability, and security.

Job Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience building large-scale SaaS backends, including 3+ years in a Team Lead role.
  • Proven expertise designing cloud-native micro-services on AWS (EKS/ECS, service mesh, event streaming).
  • Deep understanding of identity protocols (OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, SCIM), session security, and token-based auth.
  • Strong background in relational & NoSQL stores (PostgreSQL, Redis) and high-throughput event pipelines (Kafka/Kinesis) powering auth flows.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-tenant architecture, resilience patterns, performance tuning , and cost optimisation at scale.
  • Excellent system-design communication skills-able to articulate trade-offs to engineers and executives alike.
  • Passion for mentorship and growing others.
Nice to Have
  • Developing security-related infrastructure.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise IdPs (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace) and implementing federation, MFA, or conditional access.
  • Contributions to open-source identity or policy enforcement projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Own the technical vision for Hibob's Identity Platform: centralised Authentication (password, magic-link, social) and Authorization (RBAC/ABAC, fine-grained permissions, audit).
  • Design and evolve multi-tenant identity services -login, session management, token issuance, SAML/OIDC connectors, SCIM provisioning-built for 10× scale and sub-100ms latency.
  • Work hands-on alongside your team, writing high-quality code and setting technical direction.
  • Build golden-path SDKs and paved roads that let product squads secure endpoints with a single annotation and delegate permission checks to the platform.
  • Embed secure-by-default patterns in every architecture review, ensuring new services meet our SLIs/SLOs for reliability, observability, and compliance.
  • Mentor and unblock engineers through pairing, design reviews, and knowledge sharing; cultivate a high-trust, feedback-rich culture.
  • Measure and iterate : track sign-in success rates, authentication latencies, and authorization decision times; run chaos and load tests to improve continuously.
