As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in Studio, the AI-powered soundtracking product where a creator uploads a video and a pipeline of agents assembles a complete, editable soundscape of music, sound effects and ambience. Your role will be to build and operate the agentic systems at the core of that product, together with the backend platform they run on.

You will join the Studio team in the Storytelling area, and work across the Python agent platform, the Go and GraphQL Studio API and the TypeScript and React editor, all running on GCP.

Your key responsibilities include

  • Build and operate agentic systems in production, from the multi-agent pipeline that turns video understanding into soundscapes to the tool-using conversational Assistant.

  • Build backend services across the Python agent platform and the Go and GraphQL Studio API, including Pub/Sub-driven workers, video ingest and analysis, and GKE workloads.

  • Own reliability and observability for systems whose output varies, through dashboards, alerting and the evaluations that make soundtrack quality measurable.

  • Ship iteratively behind feature flags and stay with the work through rollout and incident response.

  • Partner with frontend engineers, product managers and design on the Assistant launch and on the evolution of the video analysis platform.

Requirements

  • Strong backend engineering with distributed-systems experience; Python and/or Go in production

  • Experience in building agentic systems that reached real users, such as LLM agents with tool use, multi-step pipelines or conversational assistants.

  • Experience in owning services in production on a major cloud platform (GCP or similar), covering event-driven architecture, observability and incident response.

  • Experience in taking a problem forward without being asked, and in challenging decisions openly and taking that challenge well.

It would also be music to our ears

  • Audio/music technology or media processing (transcoding, streaming, loudness).

  • ML beyond consuming APIs: training/fine-tuning models, computer vision, or stream processing.

  • Video understanding / multimodal models.

  • Frontend fluency (TypeScript/React)
