Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Backend Developer with expertise in Python, FastAPI, and cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure) to join our dynamic engineering team at Lyric. As a key contributor to our backend infrastructure, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing server-side applications and APIs that power our web applications, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient solutions for our guests and partners.
Key Responsibilities:Backend Development: Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI framework, following best practices for clean, maintainable, and scalable code architecture.
API Design & Implementation: Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices that integrate seamlessly with frontend applications and third-party services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy, manage, and optimize applications on AWS/GCP platforms using kubernetes
Database Management: Work with various database systems (SQL and NoSQL) to design efficient data models, write optimized queries, and ensure data integrity and security.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end features, ensuring smooth integration between backend services and user-facing applications.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Write comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality, reliability, and performance standards.
Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize backend performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance system efficiency and scalability.
Documentation & Learning: Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs and services, while continuously learning new technologies and staying updated with industry best practices.
Good to Have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
1-3 years of experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Python programming.
Solid experience with FastAPI or similar modern Python web frameworks (Django, Flask).
Proficiency in working with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and writing efficient SQL queries.
Understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and kubernetes.
Familiarity with testing frameworks (pytest, unittest) and writing unit tests.
Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow within a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architectures (Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
Knowledge of cache strategies
Understanding of security best practices in backend development
Experience with async programming patterns
