cBEYONData is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Architect with strong problem-solving expertise to support a large Federal customer. This exciting opportunity includes migrating additional customers to an existing cloud environment as well as improving the current environment through automation and orchestration.
The ideal candidate possesses broad cloud and AWS expertise while also being able to go deep into one or more areas. This person will need to apply their skills by engineering and architecting solutions while working with peer teams and the customer. A team player and strong communications skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage cloud knowledge and skills to design, engineer, implement and sustain cloud-based services for DoD systems
- Provides strategic direction, configuration, and implementation experience pertaining to the implementation of new tools, technologies, solutions, and methodologies to meet customer and security requirements
- Design and implement High Availability/ Disaster Recovery Solutions
- Work directly with customers and peer teams to capture requirements and implement new cloud solutions
- Work with SMEs and Security Team in defining secure-based cloud architecture
- Utilize knowledge and experience with DevSecOps to establish best practice processes
- Use knowledge and skills to build effective CI/CD pipelines
- Evaluate and automate scaling and capacity requirements within AWS environments
- Analyze and provide recommendations to optimize cloud performance and cost
- Ability to perform analysis of alternatives and market research that provide data which aid in the selection of Tools, Technologies, Solutions, and Methodologies
- Provide management and mentor less experienced team members in defining outcomes, operational approach, procedures, and customer service standards
- Support adoption of solutions through meetings and presentations with stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in an IT-discipline
- Minimum 5+ year of Administration experience and technical knowledge of AWS platform and applications in IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments
- Proficient understanding of platform, network, security and storage components in a cloud environment working with VM Engines, Storage services and Network components such as Load Balancer, VPN etc.
- AWS Services Experience: EC2, Cloud Formation, VPC, ELB, AWS Security, S3, RDS, EBS, ECS
- Experience with Ansible, AWS console, Elastic, AWS, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket and various cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings
- Strong understanding and experience with Active Directory
- Excellent analytical skills and strong sense of ownership, accountability, and solution delivery urgency
- Candidate must, at a minimum, have one of these certifications: Certified AWS SysAdmin, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Security
- Experience defining, documenting, and implementing governance approaches
- Experience with Agile project methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to come onsite once per week preferred (Ft. Belvoir, VA)
- Secret clearance is required
