The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
Salary Range$169,400.00 - $279,600.00You will work to increase analytical maturity across the organization, including the adoption of AI, to encourage more informed business decisions. Through explanatory modeling and analytics as well as experimental design and related inferential techniques, you and your team will surface actionable insights that influence business decisions and strategies. Simply put, your area helps the business understand 'the why' underneath business trends and data. This discipline focuses on supporting business areas and activities beyond pricing and reserving, with a specific focus on Product and Underwriting Business Analytics for the Small Commercial business unit.
You will guide a team working to advance organizational objectives aligned with enterprise goals.What Will You Do?
- Partner with senior leaders within business areas to define, inform, and influence key strategic decisions.
- Define and implement work routines and standards of practice to ensure optimal quality of work is being achieved.
- Identify barriers and remove obstacles affecting team performance.
- Work with business partners to ensure that the decision science team is focusing on the right priorities and assess team capacity to support upcoming initiatives within business area.
- Provide line of business perspective to enterprise initiatives and support cross-functional strategies and teams.
- Coach the team in diagnostic analysis, active monitoring and/or multivariate modeling methods that can be used to influence strategic business decisions by balancing constraints and opportunities.
- Champion the adoption of AI and other emerging analytical technologies, and lead the team and business partners through the organizational change required to embed them into everyday ways of working.

- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field, or a Business School Master’s Degree with a concentration in a technical or analytical field.
- Ten years of related data and analytic experience.
- Experience using explanatory, diagnostic, and inferential techniques such as experimental design, hypothesis testing, clustering analysis, time series and other statistical modeling algorithms with the ability to decide the appropriate methodology for the purpose.
- Industry level expertise of large-scale multidimensional data systems, non-traditional data sources, open-source cloud-enabled analytical programming languages, and emerging AI tools and platforms.
- Industry level expertise of statistical and scientific techniques and how they are implemented through analytical programming languages.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, planning, and implementing analytical strategies, including leading teams and business partners through organizational change driven by AI and other emerging technologies.
- Experience leading teams of direct reports as well as leading cross-functional work groups.
- Ability to serve as an analytics lead, strategically guiding data initiatives and representing both analytics needs and business needs to our execution team.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to problem-solve, think critically, and operate strategically across the enterprise.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree or seven years of experience in data, analytics, engineering, science, technical analytical fields or relevant experience.
