This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
The Associate Vice President (AVP) is a senior leadership role in the Cloud Platform & Reliability Engineering organization within Calix. The mission of the organization is to enable Calix to accelerate the delivery of innovative products to its customers by providing a highly available, reliable, secure and performant cloud and tools.
The AVP is responsible for implementing the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the Cloud Platforms while leading, mentoring and coaching talented teams across the globe and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization, ensuring alignment with the company's vision, mission, values, and goals.
- Develop roadmaps, set SMART goals and deliver results on-time and within budget.
- Manage and optimize the allocation and utilization of resources, including human, and technological resources.
- Lead, mentor, and coach staff, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders within and outside the company. Delight them with solutions that exceed their expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and standards, and mitigate any potential risks or issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of building Cloud Platforms & Tools in the public cloud – preferably AWS or GCP.
- Technical expertise in the commonly used cloud services and resources. Ability to quickly learn and master new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions.
- Demonstrated success in leading multiple projects and delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to hire, coach and mentor staff and help them to reach their fullest potential.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a growth mindset.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- More than 10 years of experience with at least 6 years of progressive experience in management roles, preferably in the same or a similar industry.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a similar discipline.

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:
240,900.00 - 500,400.00 USD Annual
All Other Locations:
209,500.00 - 435,100.00 USD Annual
