We are looking for a AU Junior Accountant to manage day-to-day
financial transactions, maintain accurate accounting records, and support the
preparation of financial reports and compliance requirements. The ideal
candidate has strong bookkeeping and accounting skills, experience with
cloud-based accounting systems, and a solid understanding of financial
processes, including Australian bookkeeping and taxation requirements. This
role is critical in ensuring accurate financial data, efficient transaction
processing, and the timely completion of accounting activities.
What You’ll Do
- Process
daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable,
bank transactions, and general ledger entries.
- Perform
bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and
completeness of financial records.
- Maintain
and update bookkeeping records in accounting software such as Xero and
QuickBooks.
- Prepare
and process journals, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with accounting
standards and company procedures.
- Assist
in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and supporting
schedules.
- Support
payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of employee-related
transactions when required.
- Monitor
outstanding receivables and payables and ensure timely follow-up and resolution
of
- discrepancies.
- Organize
and maintain financial records and documentation for audit and compliance
purposes.
- Collaborate
with internal teams to address accounting issues, improve processes, and ensure
the timely completion of financial tasks.
Requirements
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in
Accountancy, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience
in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related finance role.
- Strong knowledge of
bookkeeping principles, accounting processes, and financial record management.
- Experience using Xero is
essential; proficiency in QuickBooks is highly preferred.
- Experience using Karbon or
other practice management software is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of
Australian bookkeeping practices and tax requirements is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and
ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in financial data processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational, time
management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical and
problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify and resolve
discrepancies efficiently.
- Effective written and verbal
communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple
tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial
information.
