Responsibilities
- Support portfolio construction and implementation for the global EMD team, focused on Asian local markets across rates, bonds and FX
- Prepare orders and execute trades on a timely basis across electronic and voice platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Tradeweb, FXAll), in line with best execution and portfolio/regulatory guidelines
- Monitor portfolio exposures, performance and underlying risks (duration, curve, FX, liquidity), and recommend adjustments to senior PMs
- Independently research interest rate and currency drivers across the region, and provide fundamental, valuation and technical intelligence to senior PMs and analysts
- Analyze and improve global trading processes and promote best practices across the desk
- Liaise with middle-office and operations to ensure smooth workflow, and support counterparty onboarding and account opening as needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with sell-side trading and sales counterparts
Qualifications
- 3–5 years trading EMD instruments and implementing portfolios, ideally with Asian local markets exposure
- Working knowledge of rates, bond and FX mechanics, including NDFs, NDIRS/IRS, FX options and local-currency government bonds
- Strong written/verbal communication, analytical and quantitative skills; ability to prioritize a varied workload under pressure
- Excellent Bloomberg and Office skills; programming (Python, VBA) and building / running models in rates/FX a plus
- Team player, flexible and globally minded, able to build networks across the global team and the sell side
- Fluency in English; an additional Asian language advantageous
- Bachelor's degree required
