Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is a global leader in electric power systems protection, monitoring and control. As an Associate Hardware Engineer in the 400-Series Hardware team, you will work with Senior Engineers and Technicians across SEL R&D, Manufacturing and Purchasing divisions to analyze/reverse engineer and qualify changes to established product assemblies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate changes to components, PCB assemblies, and specifications in established, mixed-signal, high/low-voltage designs against established performance and functional requirements.
Coordinates with mechanical, process, manufacturing, RTL, firmware, and product engineers as needed to verify appropriate system performance and ongoing quality.
Analyzes, simulates, designs/modifies, and develops simple analog and mixed-signal circuits under the direction of an experienced engineer or manager
Conducts design reviews to demonstrate adequacy of solutions against established requirements.
Assists in the evaluation, modification and development of hardware specifications. 6. Works with Manufacturing and Purchasing, and PCB fabrication partners to procure new component samples and validate components through the manufacturing process.
Works with technicians to write practical and effective test plans, execute and support tests, troubleshoot, documents test results, and conduct reviews according to established processes.
Works with project managers to execute simple projects under guidance of senior staff.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of educational and work experience.
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)

Analog simulation experience
Working knowledge of soldering techniques, and electronics lab equipment. bologna

Salary Range Data
We anticipate filling this position as an Associate Hardware Engineer $84,000 - $124,000 per year. Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
