Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine is committed to raising the bar on patient and caregiver experience through our Patient Engagement and Customer Solutions (PECS) organization. The PECS team is accountable for the creation of personalized, seamless, and supportive experiences for patients starting treatments across the Innovative Medicine portfolio.

The Associate Director, Portfolio Management, on the Digital Innovations and Customer Experiences (DICE) team, is accountable for translating strategic priorities into an integrated and transparent portfolio of initiatives across the Janssen Carepath (JCP) and WithMe CRM ecosystems, and for aligning both internal and external stakeholders and service providers to our roadmap. This role serves as the connective tissue between DICE, technology, marketing, and other cross-functional teams across PECS to drive and align PECS towards a unified digital strategy yielding an efficient and seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment and Portfolio Planning

  • Translate strategic technical priorities across DICE/PECS into a clear portfolio roadmap, including major initiatives, milestones, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Support leadership in evaluating whether current and proposed work aligns to business outcomes, operating priorities, and value expectations.
  • Facilitate portfolio planning cycles, including annual budget planning, quarterly roadmap reviews, ongoing budget/financial tracking, and ad-hoc reprioritization as business needs evolve.
  • Identify overlaps, gaps, sequencing issues, and opportunities to rationalize or consolidate work across the portfolio.
  • Ensure necessary artifacts to facilitate prioritization conversations are continually kept live/up to date

Portfolio Governance and Decision Management 

  • Establish, lead, and maintain portfolio governance forums, cadence, agendas, decision logs, and escalation pathways.
  • Ensure key decisions are documented, communicated, and followed through to closure.
  • Prepare leadership materials that clearly summarize portfolio health, trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and recommendations.

Intake, Prioritization, and Demand Management

  • Aligned to the PECS Centralized Demand Intake process, partner closely with Supplier Management and Operational Excellence (SMOX) and other team members to ensure portfolio roadmap reflects decisions and actions coming out of the Demand Intake forums
  • In support of Demand Intake process, prepare necessary artifacts/materials to facilitate prioritization conversations and support leadership in making informed decisions around trade-offs when demand exceeds capacity
  • Maintain a prioritized portfolio backlog and ensure requestors understand status, next steps, and decision outcomes.

Execution Oversight and Performance Tracking

  • Track progress against portfolio milestones, commitments, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
  • Identify delivery concerns early and partner with initiative/submission owners to develop mitigation or recovery plans.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and actionable for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with finance and provide transparency to spend and tracking against budget for DICE platforms
  • Establish and implement value realization practices  

Risk, Issue, and Change Management

  • Maintain an integrated view of material portfolio risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Escalate risks and issues with clear impact statements, mitigation options, recommendations, and required decisions.
  • Assess change impacts across the portfolio when scope, timeline, funding, priority, or resource assumptions shift.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications

  • Aligned to PECS team culture, build and maintain trusted relationships with business, technology, finance, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Ensure stakeholders have a shared understanding of portfolio priorities, progress, decisions, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Tailor communications for different audiences, including executive summaries, working team updates, and decision-oriented briefings.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and timely engagement across the portfolio ecosystem

Qualifications & Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (Technology, Business, Marketing, Operations, or related fields)
  • Minimum 8 years experience in product development/management, product strategy, preferably in the healthcare or life sciences space
  • Minimum 5 years experience owning and driving a portfolio of multiple products/platforms, including creating and maintaining business priority roadmaps and artifacts, strategy planning, monitoring risks, etc
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience in bringing together cross-functional partners in matrixed organizations, presenting ideas, influencing planned outcomes, exhibiting flexibility in changing environments, and leading execution in an agile delivery model.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM (Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud or Health Cloud)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated track record for forging strong, productive relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence across all organizational levels. Proactively communicates achievements, risks, and associated impacts
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter with ability to lead others and take accountability for driving outcomes

Preferred

  • SAFe agile certification
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy and patient hub services
  • Experience with pharmaceutical compliance standards and healthcare data privacy regulations

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
• Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
• Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
• Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
