Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5pm, evenings and weekends as required

Summary:

The Associate Director of Parish Stewardship leads and supports a comprehensive stewardship effort to help parish leaders throughout the archdiocese foster Stewardship as a way of life, focusing on Time, Talent, and Treasure, including the annual Stewardship Day. The Associate Director of Parish Stewardship will facilitate the ongoing development of an overall vision for Parish Stewardship; present the vision and motivate pastors and their leaders to adopt a parish-based effort to foster Stewardship as a way of life. The Associate Director of Parish Stewardship conducts effort-based stewardship trainings for parish leaders, provides ongoing support and follow up with all aspects of parish stewardship, including parish fundraising, volunteer development and recruitment, and increased engagement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • *Clearly understand the Church hierarchy, fundraising, Christian stewardship, Archbishop Appeal mission, purpose, and goal.
  • *Develop a professional relationship with parish Pastors and parish leadership teams.
  • *Develop and implement a comprehensive diocesan Stewardship plan.
  • *Evaluate and understand each parish’s parishioner demographics and interest for strategic planning.
  • *Conduct stewardship & development presentations and trainings to pastors, volunteer coordinators, and parish staff.
  • *Educate parishes regarding best practices for e-communications, fundraising, live streaming and other strategies of communication and evangelization for full community engagement in ministry and development.
  • *Meet regularly in-person or virtually with pastors and office staff on goals and objectives.
  • *Serves as a liaison with pastors, principals, finance councils and stewardship committees as requested.
  • *Researches and evaluates potential funding opportunities to ensure parish goal achievement.
  • *Develop and propose strategies to increase parish outreach, engagement, and Christian stewardship based on research and evaluation.
  • *Supports parishes to foster Christian stewardship as a way of life.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral policy is mandatory.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing's, theology, public administration or business-related field or additional experience in lieu of degree.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in parish stewardship, education, Church administration, development, and/or parish ministry or combination thereof.

License and Credentials

  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license
  • Valid vehicle insurance
  • Project Management Certification preferred

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bilingual in Spanish required
  • Sound understanding of fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and gift cultivation strategies.
  • A solid grasp of Archdiocese of San Antonio and Christian Stewardship and philanthropy;
  • Extensive working knowledge of verbal and written communication and presentation skills, and an exceptional command of grammar, spelling, and usage in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to manage multiple and complex projects on tight deadlines. Organized, detail, and results-oriented.
  • Experience with computer software and electronic communications platforms (i.e., email marketing, Raisers Edge, Google and Microsoft)
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
  • Must have good written and verbal skills;
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 70% local and 2% overnight.

Skills Required

  • Bilingual in Spanish
