Our recipes are developed by leading animal nutritionists, and are made with only real, human-grade ingredients... and nothing artificial! Who You Are
We’re looking for a highly creative, hands-on, design-forward Associate Creative Director to lead and build the creative function at Spot & Tango. You’ll partner closely with Marketing, Growth, Product, and Leadership to evolve our brand expression, push the creative boundaries, and deliver thoughtful, thumb-stopping work that drives real results.
This role is ideal for someone who’s just as comfortable directing a photoshoot as they are mocking up a landing page, and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. You’ll manage a growing team and own the creative output across every touchpoint.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end creative process across brand, growth, product, and CX
- Concept, direct, and execute standout campaigns, product launches, paid ads, emails, landing pages, packaging, photo/video shoots, and OOH
- Build, manage, and mentor a small but mighty in-house creative team
- Translate business goals into compelling creative briefs and campaign narratives
- Partner with Marketing and Growth to develop TOFU campaigns and brand moments (e.g., NYC strategy, OOH rollouts)
- Think like a brand strategist — not just a designer — and develop creative concepts rooted in business goals, audience insights, and creative briefs
- Bring a brand-first lens to every project, ensuring the work connects emotionally and performs
- Translate campaign or product briefs into strong creative territory, messaging direction, and visual storytelling
- Help evolve Spot & Tango’s brand story and visual identity across all channels. Maintain and improve brand guidelines, and act as guardian of brand consistency
- Collaborate on creative strategies that build awareness, engagement, and customer love
- Support the development of internal processes (e.g., creative briefing, reviews) to streamline output and improve quality
- Actively manage creative agency partners — setting the agenda, aligning on business priorities, and ensuring high-quality work
- Use customer insights and performance data to inform creative decisions and optimize for results
- Ensure all creative is delivered on time, on budget, and on brand — with high attention to craft and detail
- Work cross-functionally with external partners, freelancers, and production teams when needed
- Push our brand to be more bold, cheeky, and memorable — while staying true to our mission and values
Qualifications:
- 8–10+ years of creative experience, with a strong portfolio of multi-channel work (brand + performance)
- Background in DTC preferred; agency experience also welcome
- Strong design chops with an art direction mindset (Adobe CC, Figma, etc.)
- Great taste — and the ability to translate that into business results
- A roll-up-your-sleeves doer who can also lead, mentor, and inspire
- Experience managing a creative team and working cross-functionally
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
- Familiar with fast-moving startup environments and tight production timelines
- Dog lovers a plus!
This is a hybrid position based in our Midtown Manhattan office. In office presence is required on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Hybrid Workspace
Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.
Our hybrid policy requires employees to work in-person at our New York office Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Employees are able to work from home on Tuesday and Friday.
