Department Focus

The Legal Department at Deliverect is a comprehensive powerhouse providing counsel, managing risk, and ensuring global compliance to propel the company's growth and objectives. With expertise in data privacy, security, and intellectual property law, we craft and implement strategic programs that support Deliverect's global advancements and meet evolving needs. Offering global legal counsel across diverse jurisdictions, we provide both our people and customers with legal peace of mind, ensuring every step is compliant and strategically aligned for excellence, pioneering the legal frontiers that define Deliverect's journey.

Your Impact

As an Associate Legal Counsel at Deliverect, you will play a pivotal role in driving our global business forward by partnering closely with strategic commercial, product, and corporate teams. Operating from our Madrid office, you will handle high-impact commercial negotiations, champion data privacy compliance, and safeguard our corporate governance across global entities. Your pragmatic, solution-oriented guidance will directly enable revenue growth, de-risk new product innovations, and ensure seamless execution of strategic transactions like funding rounds and M&A.

This is a full-time, hybrid role with a flexible work schedule, offering 3 days in our Madrid, Spain office and 2 days from the comfort of your home.

What you will do:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (50%): Partner with commercial and partnership teams to structure, draft, and negotiate complex agreements—including API agreements, terms of service, master service agreements, and referral/reseller agreements—to drive global revenue growth.

  • Lead privacy and compliance initiatives (15%): Advise on GDPR and global privacy matters, draft and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with customers and partners, and ensure new business processes align with evolving global regulatory standards.

  • Support strategic transactions and corporate governance (5%): Manage legal frameworks and corporate governance to keep group entities in good standing and assist the General Counsel with M&A, investments, and funding rounds.

  • Enable product and marketing compliance (10%): Provide legal direction for new product launches, review marketing communications for regulatory alignment, and de-risk go-to-market initiatives.

  • Develop efficient legal operations and internal training (10%): Design and implement scalable legal workflows and templates while delivering cross-functional training on topics like marketing best practices, antitrust compliance, contract negotiation, and privacy laws.

  • Collaborate and exercise decision-making (10%): Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, independently managing daily operational decisions while escalating high-risk strategic trade-offs directly to the General Counsel.

What you will bring:

  • 6 to 8 years of professional experience as in-house counsel or within a top-tier tech-focused law firm (or equivalent work experience).

  • Demonstrated expertise in privacy law (GDPR), with prior experience in tech or B2B SaaS considered a strong plus.

  • Proven track record in commercial negotiation, with a demonstrated ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in fast-paced environments.

  • High proficiency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of a second language (such as Spanish) is a strong plus.

  • Proficiency with modern productivity tools, including working knowledge of Google Workspace (G Suite) and Claude

  • Solutions-driven mindset and creative problem-solver who excels under pressure, prioritizes tasks effectively, and adapts quickly to business needs.

  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, with the capability to train internal teams and collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.

What We Do

Deliverect is a fast-growing SAAS scale-up that connects third-party delivery platforms and food businesses around the globe. We’re neither a delivery provider, nor a POS system - we bridge the gap between them. In order to help businesses manage their food delivery and takeout operations more efficiently, we integrate their food ordering channels in their existing POS. Deliverect integrates third-party food ordering platforms into the restaurant’s point-of-sale system, making rekeying orders and the costly errors that come with it a thing of the past. With all online orders centrally managed, businesses can increase operational efficiency, which will ramp up customer satisfaction, as well. Incidentally, Deliverect’s mission is to be the connection between food businesses and their customers in order to strengthen their relationship. The company’s software saves its customers time and money, so they can focus on doing the things they love and are passionate about.
