Position Overview:
The Accounting Associate is responsible for managing accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and journal entries. The role involves preparing financial statements, handling accounts payable, supporting tax filings, and ensuring compliance. The position also includes managing fixed assets, assisting in process improvements, supporting audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the role involves overseeing office operations, supplies, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations:
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable regularly.
- Process journal entries, including adjustments for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
Financial Reporting:
- Preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, tax compliance report, cash flow analysis, prepaid expenses report, payment tracker sheet in timely manner.
- Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Accounts Payable:
- Manage and Process employee reimbursements.
- Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding payables and reconcile vendor accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and communicate with superiors as needed.
Taxation and Compliance:
- Support tax filings, including GST, TDS, and other statutory obligations.
- Assist in preparing working documents for releasing GST Refund filings.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and support audits as required.
Fixed Asset Management:
- Maintain records of fixed assets and calculate depreciation.
- Assist in tagging and tracking fixed assets, ensuring accurate reporting.
- Prepare periodic reconciliations for fixed assets.
Process Improvement:
- Assist Reporting Manager to identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborative support of automation initiatives and contribute to the implementation of new systems.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Assist Superiors to Collaborate with auditors, consultants, and other external parties for reporting and compliance.
Audit Support:
- Prepare and organize documentation for internal and external audits.
- Address audit queries and implement recommended improvements.
Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring a well-organized and efficient work environment.
- Maintain office supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
- Handle office equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs for electrical items.
- Supervise housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness and adherence to set standards and maintain their attendance records from time to time.
- Day-to-day arrangements of snacks for working employees.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of experience with graduation as Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Accounting Management, Taxation, MIS
- OFFICE AUTOMATION (MS-Office, MS-Word, MS-Excel, Power Point, Internet)
- ERP Pack- SPA, Oracle etc. Additional Advantage
