Team Overview
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Associate Developer with a strong foundation in Java and a passion for Big Data technologies. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and applications within our cloud environment (AWS and GCP). You will work closely with senior engineers to build scalable and efficient solutions for processing and analyzing large datasets. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills and contribute to a data-driven organization. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
· Develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable data pipelines using technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Scala, and Python.
· Write efficient and maintainable code in Java, Scala, and Python.
· Design and implement data models and SQL queries for efficient data access and analysis.
· Work within a cloud-based environment (AWS and GCP) to build and deploy data solutions.
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of data infrastructure.
· Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
· Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and applications.
· Contribute to documentation of data pipelines and system architecture.
· Stay up-to-date with the latest Big Data technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development.
· Strong proficiency in Java programming.
· Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and HDFS.
· Hands-on experience with Spark and Scala.
· Proficiency in Python programming.
· Solid understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
· Experience working in a Cloud environment (AWS or GCP).
· Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
· Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
· Experience with data visualization tools.
· Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
· Certifications in AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
