Reports To: Vice President, Community Centers

Location: 876 Schenck Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207

Hours: Part Time - Saturdays, 4:00 PM-9:00 PM; Non-Exempt

Salary: $27.47 - $30.22/hour

Major Duties:

  • Provide oversight of Saturday programming and the overall functioning of the community center.
  • Enter weekly attendance data into DYCD connect.
  • Offer input regarding ideas for engaging programming for community members.
  • Ensure activities are adequately covered by maintaining an on-call coverage schedule and providing on-call/triage in response to staffing and scheduling issues.
  • Ensure staff know what activities they are covering and what rooms they should be utilizing.
  • Ensure staff have the materials they need.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the shared use of space.
  • Provide information to community members and parents and ensure that all questions are answered.
  • Manage all crises and ensure the smooth operation of the program within the building, including responding to specific maintenance and security concerns.
  • Keep a log of all questions and issues that arose to share with the Director of PJACC.
  • Complete and submit incident reports as needed.
  • Attend some monthly DYCD SNL meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in youth supervision and administration.
  • Able to engage community members of all ages.
  • Must be able to engage in crisis intervention.
  • Able to multi-task and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in youth supervision and administration.
