This dual-role position carries two co-equal primary responsibilities:

  1. Serving as the Assistant Operations Director for the entire GMC Corps of Cadets, directly assisting the Director of Cadet Operations in the planning, coordination, and execution of daily and long-term military operations, training, and logistics.
  2. Serving as the Service Academy Preparatory Program (SAPP) Director, managing the administration, development, and execution of GMC's SAPP, which supports sponsored and self-sponsored scholars pursuing appointments to the United States Service Academies.

In their SAPP capacity, the Director serves as the primary liaison between GMC and the U.S. Military Academy (USMA), U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), ensuring scholars are academically, physically, medically, and administratively prepared to earn and accept appointments.

In their Cadet Operations capacity, the Director plays a critical leadership role in organizing, scheduling, and executing large-scale campus operations, parades, training events, and daily routines for the entire Corps of Cadets.

This is a professional leadership position requiring frequent interaction with prospective applicants, Service Academy officials, cadets, parents, congressional offices, and other military personnel. Work hours are generally Monday through Friday; however, evening and weekend work is regularly required to support recruiting, scholar development, academy visits, cadet operations, and special events.

The Assistant Operations & SAPP Director will perform additional duties as assigned by the Deputy Commandant of Cadets.
