Salary: $63,000 – $70,000 annually

First Student is now hiring an Assistant Transportation Manager to support our Marlborough, MA location.

This role assists the Contractual Manager with supervising daily transportation operations, monitoring performance, identifying safety concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring safe, reliable service for the students and communities we serve.

- Ensure home-to-school routes are covered in a timely and efficient manner.
- Interface with drivers regarding concerns, questions, and performance issues.
- Investigate client complaints and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
- Ensure achievement of on-time performance goals.
- Monitor driver safety and make Injury Prevention contacts with drivers to identify and resolve safety issues.
- Assist the Contractual Manager with review and resolution of union grievances.
- Ensure dispatch staff assigns spare drivers and buses as needed to provide on-time route coverage.
- Audit and correct athletic trip invoices based on company guidelines.
- Support daily operations and help ensure safe, dependable transportation service.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3–5 years of transportation experience preferred.
- 2–3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle mechanic processes and maintenance.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work extended hours regularly, including weekends as needed.
- Must possess a working vehicle to travel within the service area as needed.
