POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Director, Content & Operations is a strategic leader charged with ensuring the technical and operational success of the Sundance Collab digital library and live programming. This role bridges the gap between high-level content strategy and technical execution, overseeing the lifecycle of digital products from production to revenue-generating distribution.

Working closely under the Associate Director, Collab, this position requires a forward-thinking individual who can balance daily operational excellence with a vision for future growth. They lead the technical support strategy and modernize digital workflows to maintain a competitive advantage in the online learning landscape.

This full-time position is based within a commutable distance to Boulder, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Los Angeles, CA, or New York, NY. There will be opportunities for day-to-day to be performed remotely. The role requires flexibility, including extended hours, evenings, and weekends during peak periods, as well as travel to Institute locations, events, and meetings as needed.

Top priorities include, but are not limited to…

  • Leading the technical support ecosystem, establishing and documenting best practices for courses and live events and troubleshooting to ensure a seamless user experience, including leading and implementing accessibility initiatives.

  • Ensuring readiness for live events (webinars, master classes, courses) including securing Zoom links, updating calendars, inviting all internal attendees, confirming technical requirements, ensuring quality control of presentation materials, conducting tech checks, visual design, audio and video quality, and closed captioning, and ensuring post-event recordings are uploaded.

  • Monitoring events in real time, and personally running events when necessary.

  • Overseeing the curation, auditing, and packaging of digital content, ensuring the library remains a high-value, searchable asset that drives retention.

  • Determining and implementing a YouTube strategy for Sundance Collab.

  • Editing video content as needed for YouTube or course development.

  • Serving as a technical resource to staff, answering questions, and advising on best practices.

  • Collaborating with the Director, Collab to identify revenue-generation opportunities through content bundling, productized offerings, and technology initiatives.

  • Identifying key program metrics and conducting data research to evaluate platform success, providing data-driven strategies to leadership.

  • Staying ahead of EdTech trends to evaluate and recommend new technologies, including AI applications, that improve operational efficiency.

  • Hiring, mentoring, and overseeing the internal Content & Operations team as well as external freelancers, ensuring they are trained to deliver events and support with ensuring success.

You have the following direct or transferable qualifications and skills:

  • 7 years managing digital platforms to maximize user experience and audience acquisition.

  • 5 years of operations management experience, including leading virtual teams.

  • Deep knowledge of editing and post-production, Adobe suite, Zoom, YouTube, AirTable, Asana, Google Suite, streaming media, video delivery, content delivery networks, and digital transformation.

  • Proficiency with Stripe, Netsuite, and CRM/Support tools (e.g., ZohoDesk).

  • Proven ability to design efficient, scalable workflows and anticipate technical roadblocks.

  • Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to foster productive relationships across a wide range of people.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

In addition to an annual salary of $80,000.00 to $90,000.00*, this position** is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, highlights include:

*Final rate of pay is determined based on the applicant's geographic location, relevant experience and skills, and internal equity among similar positions within our organization.

Skills Required
