About the Role 

We are looking to add an ASIC Technician to our growing Operations department. As an ASIC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, deploying, diagnosing, (minor) repairs, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring its optimal performance. The individual will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion. This position will directly support our datacenter operations at our Paducah, Kentucky mining locations. It is a fully onsite role.  

Essential Functions 

• Assist in preparing, maintaining, and deploying ASIC miners. 
• Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal. 
• Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future hardware needs with Site Manager. 
• Conduct additional troubleshooting methods on ASIC miners in support of research and development efforts. 
• Liaise with, and provide training and support to, staff and coworkers on ASIC operation and other issues. 
• Install networked peripheral devices and networking hardware products for ASIC miners. 
• Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex ASIC miner issues, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions. 
• Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of all ASIC miners, hash boards, control boards, and network switches. 
• Construct, install, and cable-manage server racks for ASIC miners. 
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly upkeep tasks such as air filter replacement and preventative maintenance for ASIC miners.

Requirements 

• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where manual labor will be necessary during deployment days and initial setup of facility. 
• Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories. 
• Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides. 
• Ability to conduct research into hardware issues as required. 
• Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills. 
• Strong written and oral communication skills. 
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. 
• Understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. 
• Self-motivated and directed. 
• Keen attention to detail. 
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 
• A+, Network+ certifications are optional but a plus.
