About the role

We are looking to add a Facilities Maintenance Manager to our growing Facilities Maintenance Department. As a Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of buildings including HVAC systems, plumbing, structural components, and electrical systems and infrastructure. You will also be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance and safety regulations are met. Additionally, you will manage a team of site maintenance team members, create maintenance budgets, and implement cost saving initiatives. This on-site position will directly support our Maintenance operations at our Kentucky location.

Essential Functions 

  • Understand existing and future building structures, including electrical infrastructure and systems.
  • Utilize facility software for electrical control systems and monitoring.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all facilities, including preventive maintenance schedules and emergency response plans.
  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, contractors, and service providers.
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, electrical and mechanical installations.
  • Develop and manage the annual facilities maintenance budget.
  • Monitor expenses, control costs, and seek cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repair projects.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain safety protocols and training programs for maintenance staff.
  • Maintain an inventory of all facility assets, equipment, and systems.
  • Develop and implement asset lifecycle management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, and warranties.
  • Generate reports on maintenance performance and budget utilization.
  • Assume responsibility, plan, and execute assigned tasks to meet expectations (cost, quality, and on-time performance).
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of operations processes and procedures.
  • Current and continuing upkeep of facilities, including oversight of electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility or data centers, including custodial, engineering, site services, mining operations, electrical systems, and general maintenance, are implemented and conducted in a manner consistent with Riot policies and directives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
  • Budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate experience with project management concepts such as scheduling, meeting deadlines, etc.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience 

  • 3+ years of experience in Facility Maintenance Management or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Operations Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager - CFM) is a plus.
