Education Requirements and Experience:

 

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) required.

 

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

 

Knowledge of HIPAA / Confidentiality.

Knowledge of Minnesota Vulnerable Adults Act.

Knowledge of current acceptable restraint techniques.

Knowledge of de-escalation techniques.

Ability to maintain good public and community relations.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Good attendance and punctuality a must.

Ability to remain patient and calm under pressure.

Ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings.

Respect for privacy of residents.

Pass criminal background investigation and shall have no domestic assault or felony convictions.

Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for all Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe A&D positions.

 


Supervisory Duties:

 

None.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Protect residents, employees, visitors and property from all hazards.

Enforce Ahnji-Be-Mah-Diz Rules & Regulations.

Limit access to areas that contain confidential information.

Routinely patrol interior and exterior of building to provide general and equal coverage.

Provide security coverage for offsite activities as needed.

Provide written reports including but not limited to, incident reports and shift summaries.

Must maintain Daily Activity Log.

Alert proper medical personnel in the event of injury or medical emergency.

De-escalate confrontations and problem solve to support Residents’ needs.

Welcome all authorized persons to Ahnji-Be-Mah-Diz in a friendly and courteous manner.

Screen individuals for their purpose to be on ARC property.

Duties/Responsibilities (continued):

 

Patrol all entry ways periodically.

Escort residents to authorized locations as needed.

Monitor security system as a means of securing the premises.

Perform resident’s room search for illicit substances or any unauthorized materials as needed. 

Notify Law Enforcement agencies according to circumstance.

Attend all meetings and trainings as required.

Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.

Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture.

Adhere to policies governing staff conduct.

Adhere to ARC Policies & Procedures and Leech Lake GAPP Policies.

All other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

18.00

Skills Required
