The Applications Engineer has responsibility for understanding the technical and commercial requirements for prospective and existing customers. Specifically, duties include analyzing customer problems and resolving difficulties, providing technical support for Renishaw’s CMM product lines, and making sales inquiries to develop new and existing business with OEMs. This role requires 50+% domestic or international travel.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform on-site customer visits to provide training, perform demonstrations, give presentations, install solutions, check health of existing solutions and provide applications support
- Develop part inspection programs using Renishaw's CMM / Gauging inspection software
- Develop CMM / Equator Solutions as dictated by the development process
- Train customers and staff on CMM products
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot software / application issues for customers
- Assist internal and external sales on product issues
- Assistance in preparation for and manning trade shows and exhibitions
- Solutions may require any or all the following current skills, not exclusive to:
- Modus Programing
- SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Gauge R&R
- Automation
- IPC – (Intelligent Process Control)
- Information Technology
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Minimum
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or Engineer Technology equivalent, or experience equivalent
- Ability to understand and comprehend engineering principles
- Understanding of electronic and mechanical principles
- Strong trouble shooting skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- i.e. Trigonometry
- This position may require the use of, and access to, ITAR controlled data. The applicant must demonstrate eligibility to use and access such ITAR controlled data. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws.
Education and Experience: Preferred
- An understanding of coordinate systems or CAD/CAM
- Working knowledge of CMM programming software (Calypso, DMIS, Modus)
- Experience in Manufacturing, Quality Control, Metrology or CMM Operations
- Experience using Renishaw products
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- IT aptitude

Compensation Range (Annual)
- 80,000(depending on level and location)
