Job Description:
MPS is seeking an applications engineer (AE) with experience in battery management systems for industrial applications, such as energy storage. This role is highly focused on ensuring customer success by 1) Offering customers technical expertise on MPS products, 2) Matching customer requirements to MPS solutions, and 3) Assisting customers through their process of evaluation, prototyping, troubleshooting and design. In this role, the AE will use standard lab equipment with MPS evaluation boards (with firmware and software support requirements) and battery systems. The AE will operate between customer, sales, and the MPS product line team (marketing, test, production, design) to resolve technical issues, as well as generate technical documentation such as application notes. The application engineer will be a key source of product feedback to generate new products and features.
Essential Functions:
- Recommend, set up, and demonstrate MPS BMS products and offer technical assistance to customers
- Work directly with MPS factory team to determine solutions, resolve technical issues, and give feedback,
- Setup and test evaluation boards for customer use; work with product and design engineers to customize solutions for customers.
- Write technical articles, datasheets and application notes to support customer and MPS’s sales team.
- Promote MPS products through customer engagement, training activities, and other events such as tradeshows.
- Generate new product ideas and features based on customer activity
Experience requirement
BS in related engineering field (MS preferred) + 2-3 years of industry experience in battery management system
Qualifications:
- BS in related engineering field (MS preferred) + 2-3 years of industry experience in battery management system
- Solid understanding and experience with high voltage BMS for industrial application such as Energy storage, power tools or electric vehicle
- Oral / written proficiency in English
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The base salary range for this position in California is $110,000 - $160,000.
